in cebu, i dont recommend mactan, if you want nature go to the south of cebu like argao, very nice place!

There is poverty everywhere, even in the USA. But the Philippines despite its proverty has one of the highest literacy rate in the world. The beaches of the Philippines is touted to be one of the most beautiful in the world. Although there is a near lack of publicity/advertisement and despite travel advisories against tourist coming to the Phil. the adventurous still come and they come due to word of mouth ads. Pto. You must have gone to the wrong beaches. PI is 7107 tropical beaches galore. It is breath taking and beautiful there! The people there so genuine. I just wish people would visit more. They speak fluent English and Spanish.
